Introduce SessionCache interface

What. Defines get/set/delete for validation results with TTL.

Why. Isolates caching behind an interface so the in-process trial could be swapped for Redis without touching the middleware.

Set up Review Assist

Connect the session context to your pull requests.

Where do you write code?

Run this command in your terminal:

claude mcp add -s user review-assist -- npx -y review-assist-mcp

Launched your editor from the Dock? A GUI app can’t see npx on its PATH, so use the form in the README.

Your agent uses it to turn the session’s decisions and assumptions into an Intent Document.

Try a sample review first

Free · Open source · No workflow files · Self-hostable

Built for a cautious first try

Free and open source. Your session stays on your machine; the App reads the committed document and pull-request diff only when a review is opened.

FAQ

Is Review Assist free?

Yes. The MCP server and the GitHub App are both free and open source under Apache-2.0. There is no paid tier.

Is my code stored anywhere?

No. Your session transcript never leaves your machine. The GitHub App has no database: it reads the Intent Document and diff from GitHub per request, holds them in memory for that request, and serves them private, no-store to your browser. Nothing is written down, but your code does pass through the hosted service in transit. Self-host the App if that matters to you.

Which coding agents does it work with?

It ships tested with Claude Code, the Claude desktop app, and Codex. It's a standard MCP server, so any MCP-compatible agent client can register it.
